- What can be said that is not classified is that he did not suffer from any serious mental disorder and therefore there is no prison ban, says prosecutor Klara Dahlström.

Died of injuries

It was January 10 this year that the incident occurred that led to the woman's death.

According to the indictment, the man poured flammable liquid on, or near, his partner in the couple's living room.

The man then ignited the liquid, causing a sofa and other equipment to catch fire.

The woman suffered such severe burns that she died just over a month later at a hospital in Uppsala, due to general organ failure as a result of the burns.

"Get bored of all the fuss"

The man himself has claimed that he only wanted to "mark" against his partner.

According to him, he poured some fuel on the floor and lit it but states that there was no danger to anyone.

The reason for this was that he wanted to scare and mark against his partner because he was tired of "all the fuss".

The district court's ruling will be announced on July 7.
