At the end of May, the Supreme Court announced the decision in the Malin Lindström case.

This since the man who was first convicted and later acquitted in the previous trials could now be tied to Malin Lindström's body via a DNA match.

The man still denies the crime, according to his defender Ulf Holst.

The new trial in the Court of Appeal for Nedre Norrland - where the case was last decided when the man was acquitted in 1998 - is held for a total of four days.

Much of the evidence from the old preliminary investigation that has already been presented to the court during the previous trial in the case will be presented in writing this time.

The verdict in the case will be announced later in the summer.

SVT Nyheter Västernorrland will cover the trial in detail, including through a live chat directly from the courtroom.
