Quaestor, a coveted position

The vice-presidents, first: they are six, four for the majority and two for the opposition.

They are essentially responsible for replacing the president at the perch during the sessions.

Among the candidates, Sébastien Chenu for the National Rally, Caroline Fiat and Valérie Rabault for Nupes, or even Annie Genevard for Les Républicains.

Another key position is that of quaestor.

There are three, two for the majority and one for the opposition.

They are responsible for the administrative and financial management of the Assembly and define its budget.

A prestigious position, coveted again this year by Éric Ciotti, of the Republicans, but also by Bastien Lachaud, of La France insoumise, or Éric Woerth and Marie Guévenoux for the majority.

Twelve secretaries, eight committees

Twelve secretaries complete the office of the National Assembly.

They assist the chairman and ensure the smooth running of operations during the votes.

Finally, there are eight standing committees, including the finance committee, the defense committee and the law committee.

They are simply responsible for examining and amending the proposals and bills according to their specialty, before they are discussed in public session.
