Saudi Arabia.. 19 people were arrested for defrauding pilgrims

The Saudi Public Security announced the arrest of 19 people for announcing through social media that they had performed the Hajj on behalf of others and provided sacrifices for pilgrims for the purpose of fraud.

The Saudi Press Agency quoted the official spokesman for the Saudi Public Security, Brigadier General Sami Al-Shuwairekh, as saying that "the security authorities arrested 19 people (6 residents, 3 violators of the border security system, 4 violators of the residency system of Yemeni nationality, 3 residents of Pakistani nationality, and a resident of Myanmar nationality, and two citizens), for announcing them, through social networks and a website, about performing the Hajj on behalf of others, securing and distributing sacrifices for pilgrims, and securing buses for the purpose of defrauding through fake institutions, and handing over bonds to their victims to do so.

The Saudi Public Security confirmed that "the accused were arrested, and legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution."
