The company has applied for and been granted permission by the police to exhibit the scooters and signed an agreement with the municipality of Sundsvall.
- We think that electric scooters have a place in the cityscape as a good complement to walking, cycling and public transport, says Madeleine Blom, project manager at the municipality.
At a number of selected places, there will be parking spaces for the electric scooters where you can pick up and drop off the bike and if the municipality sees a need for more parking spaces, it will be prepared.
A digital fence will keep order
Several cities have had problems with where electric scooters have been parked or left behind, but Sundsvall municipality has been careful to use a so-called Geostaket, which will prevent road users to park the bike anywhere.
The digital system will also limit the speed of electric scooters to 20km / h, but in urban environments they will be limited to 6km / h and through playgrounds they may not be ridden at all.
