British Prime Minister Boris Johnson considered that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have launched the war in Ukraine if he were a woman, considering that it would be desirable to have more women in power.

"If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn't, I don't think he would have launched this crazy male war" aimed at "invading" Ukraine, Johnson said during an interview with German television network ZDF on Tuesday.

He added that the launch of this war by Russia was an "excellent example of toxic masculinity" and generally called for better education for girls around the world, and for more women in positions of power.

In a related context, the British Prime Minister admitted that everyone wants to end the war, but at the present time there is no possible agreement, and indicated that Putin is not making a "peace offer."

He added that the Western strategy now aims to support Ukraine to enable it to be in the best possible strategic position, if peace negotiations begin one day with Moscow.

Johnson had earlier joked, at a dinner for the G7 leaders, after being asked if they should keep or take off their jackets, "We have to show we're cooler than Putin," suggesting that they show their chest muscles.

Famous photographs, in which Putin appeared naked to the waist on horseback, were taken in August 2009, while he was the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
