The Commissioner-General of the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Quality of Life track, and the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, Mattar Al Tayer, announced the immediate start of implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, which His Highness directed during the first meeting of the committee The Supreme Council for Development and Citizens Affairs, regarding the planning of typical neighborhoods for citizens in the Emirate of Dubai.

Al Tayer pointed out that in accordance with the decisions of the committee, which is a translation and reflection of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at accelerating the pace of development of citizens in Dubai according to a comprehensive methodology that ensures long-term social and family stability, and raises the quality of life. The life of citizens, enhancing their well-being, and providing development opportunities for young people. These schemes are being developed in the areas of “Al Mizhar 1, Al Khawaneej 2, Al Barsha 2 and Hatta”, while the development of all targeted schemes will be completed in all neighborhoods of Dubai during the month of July.

Al Tayer stressed that the plans to develop these areas and neighborhoods are carried out according to the highest and latest international standards used in city and neighborhood planning, in order to create model neighborhoods that combine the advanced features of modern cities, and preserve the character, identity and privacy of Dubai neighborhoods, adding: “The highest and latest international standards have been adopted. followed in the field of urban planning and modern neighborhoods, while preserving the privacy and unique character of Dubai’s neighborhoods, with the aim of creating modern model neighborhoods that preserve the identity that distinguishes each neighborhood of Dubai.”

He also added: "The Higher Committee for Urban Planning in the Emirate of Dubai is working on the organization and governance of urban planning, and the implementation of the outputs of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 project, which was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum last year."

It is noteworthy that, in addition to the approval of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, an increase in the amount of financial benefits provided to the neediest categories of citizens in the emirate, an increase of 58% over the year 2021, to reach about 438 million dirhams, distributed among the two new cases of the Development Authority to the two beneficiaries. The committee aims to develop a clear action plan in the Emirate of Dubai in cooperation with the private, public and semi-governmental sectors, to follow up its implementation with the concerned authorities and to ensure the achievement of the goals set by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for this file.

A development plan will also be drawn up for the countryside and residential neighborhoods for citizens, raising the quality of life in them, following up with the concerned authorities, and raising a set of initiatives and development policies for the file of retirees in Dubai with the aim of providing them with economic opportunities, and developing exceptional and innovative ideas and projects to enhance the welfare of citizens in a tangible and unprecedented way.
