The special military operation in support of Donbass will continue until the set goals are achieved, said Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, speaking at a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization.

“We started the SVO in order to stop the shelling of Donbass by Ukraine and so that the territory of this country, turned into anti-Russia at the suggestion of a number of Western countries, as well as from its nationalist leadership, ceased to pose a threat to both Russia and the inhabitants of the south and southeast Ukraine.

And until these goals are achieved, our operation will continue,” Polyansky said.

According to him, Western countries, by supplying weapons to Ukraine, only prolong the “agony of the criminal Kyiv regime”: “The sooner you realize this, the sooner the Ukrainian leadership will sit down at the negotiating table with a realistic position, and not with slogans and phantom pains.”

The Russian diplomat also expressed serious concern that Albania, which chairs the UN Security Council, without consultations, provided the opportunity to speak at the meeting to Vladimir Zelensky.

Polyansky recalled that representatives of states wishing to speak in the Council must be physically present in the meeting room.

“The UN Security Council should not turn into a platform for President Volodymyr Zelensky’s remote campaign to beg for weapons from the NATO summit participants,” Polyansky stressed.

Later, in his Telegram channel, he noted that “theatrical tricks and tricks” no longer help Zelensky raise the “degree of discussion” in the UN Security Council.

According to the Russian diplomat, Western colleagues continue to rebroadcast the "anti-Russian narrative", but without "the former spark".

In addition, representatives of developing countries have more and more doubts and questions about the accusations made by the Kyiv regime.

“Today we tried to strengthen these doubts by giving a kind of chronology of the work of the Ukrainian fake factory, from the “Russian ship” from the Serpent Island and the “ghost of Kyiv” to the “rocket strike” on the shopping center in Kremenchug.

Unfortunately, this chronicle of Ukrainian fakes will almost certainly be replenished.

After all, for Kyiv and its Western patrons, it is important not what is happening in reality, but how the leading Western media present it, ”concluded the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN.
