“The State Department placed the FSB of Russia under sanctions because the service is a political subdivision, agency or instrument of the government of the Russian Federation,” RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.
According to the State Department, since the start of the special operation, FSB officers have allegedly been involved in human rights violations and attacks on Ukrainian citizens.
Earlier it became known that the US Treasury is introducing visa restrictions against 500 Russian military and officials.
