The United States officially banned the import of Russian gold into the country

This is stated on the website of the department.

“The Director of OFAC....determined that the bans...apply to gold of Russian origin with immediate effect.

As a result, the importation of gold of Russian origin into the United States is prohibited,” the statement said.

It is clarified that the ban does not apply to gold from Russia, which until June 28 was outside the Russian Federation. 

Earlier, the director of the Institute for Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of Russia, economist Alexei Zubets commented on the restrictions imposed by a number of countries on the import of a number of gold products from Russia.
