According to investigators, during a patrol in the village of Mirny, Cherednik stopped two men and ordered them to lie on the ground.

When the serviceman found out that they were not participants in the armed conflict, he demanded that the men say a phrase in Ukrainian while firing into the air from a machine gun.

“Using an incorrect pronunciation as a pretext, Cherednik shot one of the men.

The second victim remained alive and provided the investigation with detailed testimony regarding the crime committed, ”the IC said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that more than 2 thousand people were recognized as victims in the case of the shelling of the city.

The Investigative Committee of Russia also, together with the FSB and the Federal Penitentiary Service, identified new defendants in the case of the execution of civilians in Mariupol.
