Turkey announces that it now supports Swedish NATO membership, but that was far from over.

- I had thought that there was a 50 percent chance that it would go through.

There was also a possibility that the Turks would play this for a few more months, says Jan Hallenberg, research leader at the Foreign Policy Institute in Aktuellt.

One of the keys behind the agreement was promises of tougher measures against the terrorist organization PKK, including agreements on extradition.

But Jan Hallenberg does not believe that extraditions will now be made that would not have been made to Turkey anyway.

- Then Sweden would no longer be a state governed by the rule of law, he says.
