A man from Beaujolais was arrested on Sunday, shortly before midnight, by the police in Givors (Rhône).

As

Le Progrès

indicates , he was wanted for an attempted murder committed in the evening in the region of Villefranche-sur-Saône.

Around 7 p.m., he is thus suspected of having doused a 25-year-old young man with gasoline, before setting him on fire and fleeing.

A witness would have identified the alleged perpetrator of this attempted murder.

The victim was on a bench in Villefranche-sur-Saône when the assault occurred.

Taken to the hospital without her vital prognosis being engaged, she presented burns on the level of the neck and the back.

These injuries being only superficial, the man was able to return to his home the same evening.

While an investigation is underway to shed light on this violence, the Villefranche-sur-Saône prosecutor's office indicates that "the suspect is not audible at the moment".

According to Le Progrès

, he suffered from
