It was on April 14 that the man himself alerted the police and told them that he had shot his father.

When the police arrived, the man's father, who was in his 80s, was found dead.

Claimed that his father had harassed him

The man was arrested on the spot and has confessed to the murder.

He believes that his father has subjected him to harassment all his life and that this is a mitigating circumstance.

- I can not see that there are any mitigating circumstances, says prosecutor Anders Norberg as a request for life imprisonment for the man.

Sentenced to life imprisonment

Today, the verdict was handed down and the man is sentenced to life imprisonment as the district court considers that there are no mitigating circumstances and that the crime is so serious that the man must serve the most severe punishment.

Prosecutor Anders Norberg has gone on holiday and could not be reached for comment.
