The Director of Khorfakkan City Hospital, affiliated to the Emirate of Sharjah, Obaid bin Frisch Al Kindi, revealed the development of a new work system to provide a multidisciplinary treatment package, in cooperation with the Emirates Foundation for Health Services and the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.

He stressed the addition of new medical units in the hospital, represented by a heart disease unit and a diabetes center, with the aim of enabling the hospital to provide the best diagnostic and treatment services for patients in the city.

He also stressed the keenness of Khorfakkan Hospital to ensure that medical services reach with high efficiency to the citizens and residents of the eastern coast, specifically the people of the city of Khorfakkan, while providing specialized services to ensure that patients are not transferred to hospitals far from them, noting that Khorfakkan Hospital has entered a new phase as a result of comprehensive maintenance, and its support. With new medical devices and equipment, specialists and consultants, in addition to carrying out expansion operations, at a cost of 100 million dirhams.

He pointed to the separation of the intensive care department from other departments, the creation of an integrated center for diabetes patients, which will constitute a qualitative leap, the increase of operating rooms, and the addition of four advanced rooms.

He also confirmed the adoption of a new work system in the Department of Care, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Pharmacy, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Stroke Diagnostic Services and Primary Treatment, by appointing new consultants and specialists in the hospital in specialties such as a neurosurgeon, a psychiatrist, a respiratory system, intensive care, urology and an ophthalmologist, in addition to appointing a technician. splinting;

The works included the development of solar energy systems, the renewal of the water and electricity networks, and the change of the air conditioning system at the building level, including the development of a CT unit of air conditioning and a building monitoring system.

He stressed that the hospital plans to develop the emergency departments and men's surgery, and to develop an integrated kitchen.

Bin Frisch stated that the results reached by the departments during the first half of this year made a qualitative leap compared to the results of previous years, especially with the development of new medical units, as the number of patients who received treatment in intensive care reached 154 cases, and medical teams dealt with 2569 patients. The two admitted to the hospital, and 22,418 patients received medical care treatment in the emergency department, while the number of outpatients reached 21,340 patients.
