Both the municipalities of Emmaboda, Borgholm and Västervik already have irrigation bans.
Mönsterås municipality will be the fourth in Kalmar county.
Irrigation bans are introduced when the water levels are too low and it is all about securing the drinking water supply during the summer.
In that case, the municipal water may only be used for personal hygiene, food and drink until the ban is lifted.
It is forbidden to water with a hose
It will thus be forbidden to use municipal water for a number of summer activities.
Among other things for garden irrigation with hose or spider, car wash, filling pools and the like.
