“Bicot de mort”: the words are those of a policeman from the Grenoble anti-crime brigade.

A racist insult uttered during a verbal altercation with an individual who filmed the scene, and then broadcast it on social networks.

At the sight of this video, the Grenoble prosecutor, Eric Vaillant, announced on Tuesday the opening of an investigation for public insult by a person holding public authority, with the Lyon branch of the IGPN, the font of fonts.

The defendant would have admitted the facts.

He would also have indicated to his superiors that he "regretted the comments made", according to the prosecutor.

He faces up to three years in prison and a fine of 75,000 euros.

At the end of the video, we can see another policeman, in the back of the car, pointing an object in the direction of the individual filming the scene.

Still according to the prosecutor, it would be the radio of the agent, and not his weapon as it could be said on social networks.

The investigation should also clarify this point.
