On the afternoon of the 27th (local time), several local media including KSAT TV reported that a body was found in a large trailer parked on the outskirts of southwestern San Antonio, Texas, USA.

According to reports, at least 40 bodies have been identified in trailers next to the railroad tracks.

The New York Times reported that at least 12 survivors were being treated in hospitals, the worst immigrant death in recent years.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed, but there are reports that say that the temperature in San Antonio was 40 degrees Celsius that day, and it is estimated that people suffocated from the high temperature in a trailer packed with people.

"I think there were 100 people in the trailer," a police officer told local media.

Local broadcasters in San Antonio said they are believed to be illegal immigrants who crossed the Mexican border into the United States, but the exact identity is being investigated by the police.
