It was supposed to be a temporary decision linked to the health crisis, Airbnb finally decided to set it in stone: it will no longer be possible to organize parties in the apartments for rent on its website.
The cause ?
A plummeting number of complaints, which the platform does not want to see go up.

The Airbnb apartment rental platform
announced
on Tuesday June 28 that it was permanently banning the organization of parties in the accommodations listed on its site.
This decision is explained by a significant drop in reports of illegal assemblies since the entry into force of this ban in August 2020. The company thus announced that it had observed a drop of 44%, year after year, in the rate of reporting of parties since the implementation of this policy.
Juliette Langlais, Director of Public Affairs Europe at Airbnb, says: “
Thousands of stays take place in France every night and the overwhelming majority of travelers are respectful and attentive to the neighborhood.
We are committed to eliminating disrespectful behavior that has no place on Airbnb and believe these proactive measures help us achieve that goal.

The company had banned festive gatherings as part of measures against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Airbnb also intends to return to the occupancy rate limit set so far at 16 people: hosts will now be able to accept more than 16 people if their accommodation allows it.
More than 6,600 guest accounts and "hosts" were suspended in 2021 for trying to circumvent the party ban, the company said.
