The explosion in the price of fuel is fueling envy.

During the night of Monday to Tuesday, the Toulouse police, warned by a local resident intrigued by a shady carousel, almost surprised two thieves with their hands in the tank on a construction site in the Montaudran-Lespinet sector.

Arrived on the spot, around 4:15 am, the officials first observed the curious comings and goings of the two men.

When they took action, one of the two managed to escape but not his accomplice.

The 20-year-old, previously unknown to the police, wore gloves and stank of gasoline.

In addition to a pump still in the tank, no less than thirty jerry cans – 20 and 25 liters – were found on the spot, already filled.

The suspect was brought back to the police station and taken into custody for “meeting theft”.

He was still there on Tuesday afternoon.
