Rinat Akhmetov estimates his commercial losses due to the invasion at between 17 and 20 billion dollars.

At the head of the Metinvest group, he owns dozens of steel companies and coal mines.

Some were seized when Russian troops seized territory in eastern and southern Ukraine, others are badly damaged like

the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol

, where Ukrainian fighters suffered weeks of shelling.

Rinat Akhmetov also wants to prevent Russia by legal means "

from continuing the blocking, looting, diversion and destruction of cereals and steel

", produced by his companies.

“

Evil cannot go unpunished.

Russia's crimes against Ukraine and our people are flagrant, and those who are guilty of them must be held accountable

," the businessman wrote in a statement posted on his holding's website. SCM.

Collecting evidence on the damage caused to the factories of the entrepreneur from Donetsk is likely to be a long and tedious operation.

Moreover, nothing says that Rinat Akhmetov will end up succeeding.

Because, as Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reminded us, Russia is no longer under the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
