A large fire broke out during the night until Monday in a larger villa on Skaftö in Lysekil municipality.

- We received an alarm that there was a fire on a terrace and that there was a risk of spreading to the house itself and before we arrived it spread into the villa and unfortunately nothing could be done, says Ulrik Olsson, duty officer at Norra Älvsborgs rescue service.

Firefighters from three fire stations have worked to prevent further spread.

No one was injured in the fire and the rescue service allowed the villa to burn down during surveillance during the night.

- We have control and will stay and monitor all night.

Earlier on Sunday, a semi-detached house in Trollhättan also burned down and the rescue service also had to work there to stop the spread to adjacent buildings.

- It has also burned to the ground and we are still there with surveillance, says Ulrik Olsson.

The rescue service will remain at the fire in Trollhättan until Monday morning.

No people are said to have been at home in the semi-detached house when the fire started.
