The DPR allowed the possibility of abolishing the death penalty after the tribunal over prisoners of war

“We really hope that by the time the hostilities end, by the time all the tribunals and courts are over, the will of the people of Donbass, the DPR will finally be heard in a referendum and we will become part of our great Motherland - Russia.

Then we, as a legislative body, will not have to abolish the death penalty in the DPR, and we will already work and live in accordance with the Criminal Code of Russia, ”the agency quotes Shishkin.

In the event that until the end of the conflict in Ukraine, the DPR will not be part of Russia, the authorities of the republic will act in accordance with international conventions in order to exclude the provision on the death penalty from the law.

Earlier it was reported that a court in the Donetsk People's Republic issued death sentences to British citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Eslin, as well as a Moroccan citizen Saadoun Brahim, who fought on the side of Ukraine.
