You had to pay to have the pleasure of putting the 2022 World Cup logo on your license plate, and very expensive.
The Ministry of the Interior of Qatar indeed recalled on Twitter this Sunday "the ban on copying and affixing the logo of the World Cup (of football) on the license plates of cars" after the sale to auction of special plates.
"The General Directorate of Traffic indicates that the plates bearing the World Cup logo are a special version issued under specific conditions in coordination with Fifa, for newly registered vehicles and for specific plates auctioned", specifies the Ministry.
Offenders are liable to prosecution.

Fifa is not kidding
Fifty license plates stamped with the logo of the 2022 World Cup, which will take place in the emirate from November 21 to December 18, were sold at auction at the end of May.
The most expensive, bearing the numbers 811118, was sold for 1.8 million Qatari rials (480,000 euros).
Fifa is very strict on intellectual property, regarding the illegal use of the tournament logo and the image of the World Cup.
The first arrests for the sale on social networks of counterfeit products (t-shirts and caps bearing the World Cup 2022 logo) were announced on May 10.
In December, authorities visited a factory making perfume that was to be put into bottles bearing the World Cup logo.
