Today, Sunday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the international community to prosecute Israel for crimes of torture committed against prisoners inside its prisons, while the Palestinian Prisoners Club complained about the escalation of torture practiced by Israel against them.

In a statement issued by the movement - on the occasion of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, corresponding to June 26 of each year - the movement said that this day is an "opportunity to expose and expose the crimes of torture practiced by the Zionist occupation against our people inside its prisons, and to shed light on the extent of their ongoing suffering." As a result of practicing the worst forms of psychological and physical torture against them.”

The movement explained that the use of brutal torture methods against prisoners, especially women, children and patients, has left them with chronic diseases, permanent disabilities, and continuous psychological and physical pain.

The concerned institutions called for the necessity of starting a movement at all political, human rights and human rights levels, to expose the crime of torture, which is in violation of all international laws and covenants.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said that the Israeli occupation authorities escalated the crime of torture and ill-treatment of prisoners and detainees, with the escalation of the current confrontation.

He said that the policy of torture constitutes one of the consistent policies pursued by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian prisoners and detainees, through a number of methods and tools.

The Prisoner’s Club added on the same occasion that the systematic policy of torture is no longer limited to the concept of torture recognized in accordance with international law, as we find that the occupation agencies at their different levels have created modern methods and tools for torture operations, and although this concept was linked to the investigation period, this does not mean It is the only station where the detainee faces torture.

Through this policy, the occupation primarily aims to pressure the detainee in order to extract confessions from him, deprive him of his humanity, and impose more control and supervision on him. Over the decades, this policy has led to the martyrdom of dozens of detainees and prisoners.

According to the annual follow-up to the testimonies of hundreds of detainees and prisoners, all of them, without exception, are subjected to various methods of torture and ill-treatment, from the moment of arrest, through the investigation, and even after being imprisoned in prisons and detention centers, according to the club's statement.
