To the table, from production and processing to the entire chain of products, the main health hazards in each link, to ensure the food safety of the entire population, including children and the elderly.

The National Health and Medical Commission held a press conference on the 27th.

At the meeting, Liu Jinfeng introduced the progress of food safety and nutrition and health work since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

He pointed out that "eating safely" and "eating healthy" are important elements of a better life for the people.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Health and Health Commission has conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, fulfilled the duties of food safety standards, risk monitoring and assessment, etc. Positive progress has been made in the work of food safety and nutrition and health.

The first is to build the most rigorous standard system in an all-round way, so that you can eat with confidence and have rules to follow.

Food safety standards are mandatory technical regulations, which are basically followed by producers and operators, and are also an important basis for supervision and law enforcement.

In the past ten years, a national standards review committee with nearly 400 experts from 17 departments and units has been established, adhered to the scientific basis of rigorous risk assessment, and established a standard development system with open and transparent procedures, extensive participation of experts in multiple fields, and scientific and authoritative review. As well as the standard tracking and evaluation mechanism of in-depth cooperation between the whole society and multiple departments, the practicability and credibility of the standard are continuously improved.

Up to now, 1,419 national food safety standards have been issued, including more than 20,000 indicators, covering the entire chain from farmland to dining table, from production and processing to the whole chain of products, and the main health hazards in each link, ensuring the safety of the entire population, including children and the elderly. Food safety.

The standard system framework conforms to both the dietary structure of Chinese residents and international practices.

my country has served as the host country of the International Codex Committee on Food Additives and Pesticide Residues for 15 consecutive years, taking the lead in coordinating the food standards work of the Asian Codex Alimentarius Commission, and playing an active role in the development and exchange of international and regional food safety standards.

The second is to focus on strengthening risk monitoring and assessment capabilities, and timely warning to maintain health.

Four monitoring networks for food contamination and harmful factors, food-borne disease monitoring and a national food safety risk assessment system have been established at the national, provincial, municipal and county levels.

Monitoring of food contamination and harmful factors has covered 99% of counties and districts, and food-borne disease monitoring has covered more than 70,000 medical institutions at all levels.

The food categories for monitoring of food contaminants and harmful factors cover all 32 categories of foods such as grain and oil, vegetables and fruits, eggs and milk, meat and poultry, and aquatic products that are consumed by Chinese residents on a daily basis.

These measures enable the sensitive identification and early warning of important food safety hazards, which not only provide a scientific basis for standard formulation, but also provide strong support for serving government risk management, industry norms and orderly development, and protecting public health.

The third is to take the initiative to practice the concept of big food, and help improve "eating safely" to "eating healthy".

Vigorously promote the national nutrition plan and the Healthy China Reasonable Diet Action.

Strengthen the popularization and education of the general population and special key groups such as infants and young children, pregnant women, and the elderly, and extensively carry out reasonable dietary guidance services.

Organize the construction of a number of nutritious and healthy restaurants, canteens, schools and other pilot demonstrations.

Through social co-governance and co-construction, the public will be guaranteed access to nutritional knowledge, nutritional products and professional services, the accessibility and convenience of food and nutrition venues will be improved, and the transition from "eating safely" to "eating healthily" will be promoted.
