In May, inflation was over seven percent in Sweden.

At the same time, students' CSN support has only been increased by one percent this year.

The increased prices affect students who have to walk around the SEK 11,088 that the grant and loan from CSN entails.

- It means that you have to prioritize other things.

After all, the most important thing is food and rent, says Axel Ahlin, who studies computer technology at Lund University.

Willingness to study further

Emma Svensson, chair of Lund University's student unions, is worried that inflation will affect how many people will want to study further in the future.

- When inflation increases, it may be that we have prospective students who choose not to study due to reduced living conditions as a result of inflation.
