This means, according to the party, that the diesel price will be at least five kroner lower than it otherwise would have been.

The price of petrol is also affected, but not as much. 

The reduction obligation entails a requirement for the blending of biofuels in petrol and diesel, which means that the price at the pump increases. 

The reduction obligation will increase gradually until 2030. Sweden has chosen to demand more blending of biofuels than the EU requires. 

- Swedish households have to pay for this, says Ms economic policy spokesperson Elisabeth Svantesson. 

However, she admits that a reduced obligation to reduce will lead to "slightly" higher emissions. 

Svantesson believes that the reduction obligation could be reduced sometime next year.

She sees good opportunities to get through a reduction in the Riksdag, as several parties have similar proposals.

Electric car sales are breaking all records.

But SVT's review shows that the reduction obligation, which forces the blending of biofuels in petrol and diesel, still does 7 times more for the climate, than all electric cars combined.
