At the G7 Summit = Summit of the Seven Major Countries held in Germany, Prime Minister Kishida attended a meeting on the theme of the situation in Ukraine.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening sanctions on Russia and announced that he would contribute approximately $ 200 million in response to the global food crisis.

In this, Prime Minister Kishida said, "Russia's invasion of Ukraine can occur in other regions. It is the responsibility of the international community to support the Ukrainians fighting at the forefront. Sanctions on Russia should not be lifted." He emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening sanctions against Russia.



Regarding the response to the food crisis against the backdrop of Russia's invasion, he said, "Russia is spreading false narratives. It is necessary to firmly show that the cause of the crisis is the invasion of Russia." I argued against Russia's claim that the cause of this was sanctions in Europe and the United States.



In addition, it announced that it would contribute about 200 million dollars, or 27 billion yen in Japanese yen, to support Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East and Africa affected by the food crisis.



He also stated that he was considering additional humanitarian assistance of approximately $ 100 million and explained his policy to provide a total of $ 1.1 billion, including what he has done so far.
