The Japanese government has decided to contribute about $ 200 million in response to the food crisis caused by Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

Prime Minister Kishida is expected to make a statement at the G7 Summit = a meeting scheduled at the G7 Summit.

At the G7 Summit in Elmau, southern Germany, a meeting on the situation in Ukraine and food security is scheduled, and Prime Minister Kishida will also attend.

Prior to this, the Japanese government decided to contribute about 200 million dollars, or 27 billion yen in Japanese yen, over the response to the food crisis caused by Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

Specifically, it is being considered to develop facilities to store wheat and other products in Ukraine, where grain exports are stagnant, and to support Middle Eastern and African countries that are strongly affected by soaring prices.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Kishida is expected to announce this policy, calling for substantive support for countries facing the food crisis.

I would also like to explain to each country the policy of providing a total of $ 1.1 billion in assistance to Ukraine and related countries, including humanitarian assistance that is being considered for additional provision.
