It was when Rodin was valuing his friend's car before a sale that he googled "Free car valuation" and came across the site värderabil.nu.

Since there are many websites that offer free car valuation, Rodin thought the same was true here.

But after contesting the demand for payment and receiving a response from the company with threats of debt collection, the bailiff and the court, Rodin has no doubt that it is a scam he has encountered.

Over 3,000 affected

Rodin is far from alone in feeling cheated.

SVT's review shows that one and the same man can be linked to several similar sites that have caused concern for over 3,000 Swedes, from the end of 2020 until today.

Many of the victims have gathered in a Facebook group run by Carlaxel Andersson.

He himself was deceived by one of the sites in early 2021.

The Facebook group today has 550 members and Carlaxel has encountered many people who feel both scared and insecure.

And he thinks that's just the way it is.
