The judge in charge of the Civil Registry of Ourense has granted the change of sex to an eight-year-old boy, whose birth certificate appeared as a woman, when assessing

"sufficient maturity" and his "stable situation of transsexuality".

The order signed by Judge

Darío Carpio Estévez Pérez

, dated June 10 and to which Efe has had access, is known on the same day that the Council of Ministers approves the trans bill that allows sex change in the registry without a report medical or psychological from the age of 12 with certain conditions and from the age of 16 autonomously.

The judge determines

that the minor's birth certificate be rectified

and the indication of sex be modified, which must be "male" and not "female" as it appeared.

This judicial resolution responds to a request from 2021, in which the parents of the child, named Antonio, requested a change in the civil registry.

The magistrate had the opportunity to meet with the minor last March and verified his "sufficient maturity" and his "stable transsexual situation."

Throughout the order, the judge recounts the situation experienced by Antonio and emphasizes that he always thought and felt like a man, which is why he has granted the change of sex in the Civil Registry.
