A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday for a burglary, committed in a restaurant in Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère).
Alerted by the alarm, the owner had notified the police.
A cash fund as well as tips intended for employees had been stolen, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré.
CCTV footage from inside the restaurant was viewed by police.
The latter thus discovered a suspect who did not hesitate to make a sign to one of the cameras.
He recognizes the facts
Thanks to these images, the investigators were able to recover his face in close-up, which was broadcast to all the patrols of the police station.
Later in the afternoon, a crew in civilian clothes checked a group of people near the restaurant.
They recognized the wanted man.
At the police station, the suspect admitted the facts.
He was taken into custody, then released, after receiving a summons to appear before the criminal court.
