“The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, announced the end of the state of emergency imposed due to unrest in the provinces of Chimborazo, Tungurahua, Cotopaxi, Pichincha, Pastaza and Imbabura,” the message says. 

Protests were held in Ecuador for several days.

The demonstrators pressed the authorities to take measures to curb price increases and improve public safety in connection with crime in the country.

Five people died during the riots.

Earlier it was reported that the National Assembly of Ecuador during the session, which will be held on June 25, will discuss the impeachment of the current President Guillermo Lasso.
