Over the weekend, the ruling and opposition parties continued to fight over the shooting of a public official in the West Sea.

The Democratic Party foretold a counterattack by saying that it would create its own task force, and if the people's power would do that, they opposed the creation of a special committee of the ruling and opposition parties.

The Democratic Party raised its voice saying that it cannot be tolerated that the people's power is driving the shooting of a civil servant in the West Sea, like the manipulation of the previous government.

A TF made up of lawmakers from the military, the Blue House, and the National Intelligence Service was foretold to respond, but the people's power immediately responded.

It was proposed to form a special committee at the National Assembly level to investigate the truth jointly, if at all possible, but the Democratic Party rejected it.

[Woo Sang-ho / Democratic Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman: Have we ever created a special committee in the National Assembly for specific political or security issues?

Isn't the political offensive too severe?]

Instead, the Democratic Party pressured the ruling party to respond to the proposal to receive a chairperson of the Judiciary and negotiate the original composition by the morning of today (27th) while speeding up the normalization of the National Assembly.

But negotiations between the opposition parties ran parallel lines.

The People's Power set up a special semiconductor committee chaired by independent lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja from the Democratic Party to focus on economic activities, while insisting that it could not accept the Democratic Party's preconditions.

[Park Hyung-soo/People's Power spokesperson: (The Democratic Party) I hope that the rhetoric and argument that maintain the precondition of 'participation in the private affairs committee and the withdrawal of lawsuits' will be removed and immediately begin negotiations for the formation of the circle.]

Moreover, the consensus within the National Assembly is that it will not be easy to conclude negotiations within this month as floor leader Kwon Seong-dong is about to depart as a special presidential special envoy.

There are also observations that President Yoon Seok-yeol, who requested the retransmission of the hearing report of Park Soon-ae Education and Welfare Minister Kim Seung-hee by the 29th, will proceed with the appointment without a hearing immediately after returning to Korea on the 1st of next month.
