Fred Kerley, who became the co-sixth best performer in history in the 100m (9.76) on Friday, also qualified (20.09).

On the other hand, the 100m world champion Christian Coleman did not start these semi-finals, giving up any chance of aiming for a 100-200m double, at the Worlds which will also take place at Hayward Field from 15 to 24 July.

Coleman missed the Tokyo Games last year due to an 18-month suspension for doping whereabouts violations.
