Météo France places 15 departments in the northeast of the country on orange alert for storms and high winds.

Gusts of wind that can reach 100 km / h locally and episodes of hail are expected.

Météo France specifies that this vigilance could extend during the day to other departments, located "between Lorraine and the Lyon region".

Stormy episodes follow and look alike in France.

Météo France once again places 15 departments in the northeast of the country on orange alert for storms and high winds.

The departments of Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Allier, Saône-et-Loire, Nièvre, Côte d'Or, Yonne, Aube, Marne , Haute-Marne, Vosges, Meselle, Meurthe-et-Meselle, Meuse and Ardennes, are affected by this alert.

"Ahead of a rainy disturbance that circulates over the country, strong storms will organize this afternoon and this evening between Auvergne, Burgundy, Champagne and Lorraine", specifies Météo France.

Vigilance that could extend

Heavy showers and gusts of wind up to 100 km / h are expected in the afternoon.

Météo France specifies that this disturbance will be accompanied by strong electrical activity and hailstorms in places.

A precision that resonates in France when more than 180,000 lightning strikes were recorded in June 2022, beating the previous record of 1993.

Other departments could be added to the orange alert, adds on its site, Météo France, in particular, those "between Lorraine and the Lyon region".
