The cafe owner and the staff's agility, who noticed the delivery order request, saved a customer from a crisis.

On the 20th local time, CBS and the New York Post reported that the abducted woman was rescued safely thanks to a cafe owner and staff in New York who quickly understood the rescue message received through a delivery app.

The delivery order that came in around 5 am on the 19th, when the incident occurred, seemed to be ordinary, but the requests written together were not ordinary.

A cafe employee who worked at the time said, "Normal customers write down requests such as 'More syrup, please' or 'Please give me more drinks', but that customer wrote 'Call the police'."

Then, after checking the order, the cafe owner immediately reported to the police, saying, "It is better to be safe than to regret (by mistaken reporting)," and the food was delivered through a normal delivery company.

After receiving a report from the cafe owner, the police raided the address written on the delivery app and rescued a woman in her 20s who was imprisoned there.

According to police investigations, the woman met Kemoy Royal, 32, a man she had met online.

He imprisoned her woman in his apartment and prevented her from using her cell phone except to order her delivery.

The suspect, Royal, was arrested at the scene on charges of rape, illegal confinement, intimidation and assault, and he was also charged with raping a woman in her 20s on the 15th.

After hearing about the incident from the police, the owner of the cafe said, "I often heard that something like this would happen, but I didn't know it would happen to us. I'm glad that the victim was safe and thank the police for the quick response."

Then, the employee who first checked the customer's message said in an interview, "I'm glad the victim is safe, and I can't believe that I saved someone. I'm so proud."

Upon hearing the news, the delivery app grubhub promptly recognized the signal of the woman in crisis and delivered $5,000 (approximately 6.5 million Korean Won) to support the cafe that helped.

A GrubHub spokesperson said, "I was surprised at the positive impact that a special behavior that is easy to overlook has on the community. We are grateful that GrubHub has become a part of a novel-like story."
