It is noted that such a decision was made following the review of the 1973 Roe v. Wade case, which gave women the right to abortion without restrictions from the authorities. 

The U.S. Supreme Court said in a statement that the U.S. Constitution "does not provide a right to abortion."

It also notes that the right to regulate abortions "is returned to the people and their elected representatives."

In September 2021, the Mexican Supreme Court overturned a number of provisions in the law of the US border state of Coahuila, where abortion was criminalized.

It was also reported that a referendum was held in San Marino, in which the inhabitants of the republic voted for the abolition of the law prohibiting abortion.
