On the 24th (local time), the U.S. Supreme Court officially overturned the so-called "Raw v. Wade" ruling that legalized abortion.

As a result, the decision to abort the right to abortion is left to the powers of each state and legislature, and the federal government's 50-year guarantee of abortion rights after the 1973 Law v.

"The Constitution does not grant the right to an abortion, and no article in the Constitution protects that right," the Supreme Court of the United States said in its ruling on Law and Plantparenthood v. Casey. do,” he said.

The Supreme Court ruled that "the power to regulate abortion returns to the people and to their elected representatives."

Previously, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1973 in Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed the right to abortion, and this decision was reconfirmed in 1992 in Flandfairandhood v. Casey.

However, the ruling was overturned this time as conservative justices gained the upper hand in the U.S. Supreme Court.

In the U.S. Supreme Court, which consists of a total of nine justices, six justices are evaluated as conservative.

Last month, the political media Politico reported on a draft ruling that the Supreme Court adopted as a majority overturning the Law v. Wade case, which guaranteed women's right to abortion.

The Supreme Court opposing the ruling, in a minority opinion, said, "I oppose it for the sake of the millions of American women who have lost their fundamental constitutional protections."

As the U.S. Supreme Court decides that the right to abortion is not a constitutionally guaranteed right, it is expected that legislation and policy enforcement related to abortion will gain momentum by state.

Currently, more than half of all 50 states are projected to ban or extremely restrict abortion.

President Joe Biden is reviewing an executive order in response to the 'Roe v. Wade' ruling if it is repealed.

This is known to include measures that facilitate the purchase of abortion pills or make it possible to obtain an abortion procedure in another state.

However, there is no means of directly responding to the Supreme Court's decision.

Furthermore, this ruling is expected to intensify the battle over the abortion issue in the United States.

Violent protests over the ruling and fears of clashes between anti-abortion groups are also raised.
