The Hope Probe monitors the hours of the day on Mars

The Emirates Mars Exploration Project, "Probe of Hope", announced the monitoring of the variation of the hours of the day within the clouds of icy water on the surface of the red planet, using an infrared spectrometer, in an 11-second video clip posted by the project on "Twitter".

The spectrometer aims to study the lower atmosphere of Mars in the infrared ranges, and to provide information from the lower atmosphere in conjunction with observations from the exploration camera, where the task of the scale is to measure temperatures and the distribution of dust, water vapor and ice clouds in the lower atmosphere. It was developed to capture the integrated atmospheric dynamics of Mars, using a scanning mirror to provide 20 images per cycle at a resolution of 100 to 300 km per pixel.

The length of one day on the surface of Mars is 24 hours and 37 minutes, while the Martian year reaches 687 Earth days. This gives him the unique ability to complete one orbit around the planet every 55 hours, capturing comprehensive observations of the planet every 9 days.
