“Criminal liability is being established for the public dissemination of deliberately false information about the exercise by state bodies of the Russian Federation, the DPR, the LPR of their powers outside the territories of these states,” follows from a statement by the press service of the People’s Council of the DPR.

Also, liability is established for public actions aimed at discrediting the execution of their powers by state bodies of these states in order to protect their interests and citizens.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation to protect Donbass.

This decision was made after the request of the leadership of the DPR and LPR for help.

The head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, said that the special military operation in Ukraine would continue until the set goals were achieved.

He also noted that the main tasks of the first stage of the special operation in Ukraine have already been completed.

Earlier it was reported that liability for false information about the work of Russian government agencies in other countries will be similar to that already provided for when spreading fakes about the Russian armed forces.
