  On the eve of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, in Nantou Ancient Town, a thousand-year-old ancient city in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao come here from time to time to trace their roots and hold celebration activities.

It is not only a famous tourist attraction, but also "the first county in eastern Guangdong, the source of Hong Kong and Macao", and one of the many nostalgic and cultural bases built by Shenzhen.

  Nantou Ancient City, also known as Xin'an Ancient City, is located on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary. Its jurisdiction once covered Hong Kong, Dongguan, Huizhou and other places.

From the establishment of Dongguan County in the early years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the establishment of Xin'an County in the Ming Dynasty in AD 1573, Nantou Ancient City has been the administrative center of the Lingnan coastal area, a coastal defense fortress, and a distribution center for maritime traffic and foreign trade.

  In the 25 years since the return of Hong Kong, Shenzhen has made use of its advantages of being connected with Hong Kong in mountains and rivers and having a close relationship with people.

  With the support of measures such as "supporting and promoting Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao to carry out research and tourism cooperation for young people" in the city's "Several Measures to Further Facilitate the Development of Hong Kong and Macao Residents in Shenzhen", cultural exchanges between Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao have continued to deepen.
