Lavrov, at a press conference following the talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart, noted that Moscow would look at the behavior of the European Union and follow the real steps it takes.

According to him, the Russian side "has few illusions that the current Russophobic charge of the European Union will somehow dissipate or change in the foreseeable, and to be honest, in the long term."

The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that "this is the path that the Europeans have chosen."

Lavrov added that when World War II began, Adolf Hitler gathered a significant part of European countries under his banner for the war against the USSR.

“Now also, including the European Union, together with NATO, they are gathering such an already modern coalition to fight, and by and large, war with the Russian Federation.

We will look at all this very carefully,” he said.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that providing a European perspective to Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia was a "strong signal for Russia."
