Chancellor Angela Merkel has long since left office when she gets a reprimand from the Federal Constitutional Court: With her comment on the Thuringia elections in February 2020, she violated the principle of neutrality, the judges in Karlsruhe ruled and thus upheld a lawsuit by the AfD.
The decision drew a lot of criticism, even within the Senate.
The Federal Court of Justice also caused a stir last week: it had to deal with the anti-Semitic church relief "Wittenberger Sau".
The latest scandal at the Documenta also shows how topical the decision is: What to do with anti-Semitic graffiti?
Meanwhile, the European Court of Justice has strengthened the rights of air passengers, who have always had to disclose extensive information, even on flights within Europe.
The Luxembourg judges have now decided that this is going too far, even when it comes to fighting terrorism.
