UAE residents see 5 planets and a moon with the naked eye at dawn today

In a scene that has not been repeated since December 2004, and in an astronomical phenomenon that occurs every 19 years, the residents of the Emirates will be able to see five planets with the naked eye at dawn today, which are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, said that it is common to see two or three planets close to each other on some nights during the year, but the five planets that can be seen with the naked eye will be seen in order, close together, and appear at the same time.

He added that seeing the planets of the solar system aligned in an elegant line is one of the amazing scenes of the planets that have the opportunity to be seen with the naked eye in the second half of June 2022.

He pointed out that from dawn on Friday, the five planets visible to the naked eye line up in the order of their distance from the sun across the late night and dawn sky, and Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can be seen before Mercury fades, in the glow of sunrise and the moon joins this arrangement. Wonderful Celestial.

He emphasized that it is possible to observe the phenomenon with the naked eye throughout the earth, at the end of the night and at dawn, when the weather is clear and the air is clear, knowing that the planet Mercury may not be easily distinguished from inside cities due to its poor lighting.
