In the first five months of this year, a total of 16,000 patent reexamination invalidation decisions and 217,000 trademark documents were published.

  Wei Baozhi said that as of the end of last year, China's high-value patent review cycle had been reduced to 13.3 months, achieving the goal set by the State Council ahead of schedule.

By the end of this year, it will ensure the completion of the reduction target task of the invention patent examination cycle, and provide stronger support for the continuous creation of a good innovation environment and business environment.

  Li Chang, deputy director of the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office, said that for a long time, the State Intellectual Property Office has made great efforts to promote the reform of trademark registration facilitation, and insisted on the "full service" of trademark online public services. Currently, 37 businesses have been handled online.

At the same time, it also provides applicants with "one-stop services" such as trademark inquiry, payment, announcement, consultation, electronic service, publication of rulings, and publication of registration certificates through China Trademark Network.

  The online trademark application procedure is simple, the system is open for a long time, and is not subject to geographical restrictions, which can greatly reduce the time, economic and labor costs of the application.

In addition, the online application system is supplemented with detailed application guidelines, which can effectively reduce the probability of rejection and corrections, and improve application efficiency.

As of the end of May this year, the online application rate for trademark registration business has reached 99.45%, and the number of online application users has reached 279,000.

  In order to further improve the level of online public services for trademarks, the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office, on the basis of the online processing of trademark registration, change, transfer, renewal and other services, has successively realized trademark refusal review, trademark objection, invalidation declaration, and continuous revocation in 2020. The online application function for registered trademarks shall not be used for three years.

  According to statistics, in the first five months of this year, applicants submitted 89,300 applications for re-examination of rejection through the online application system, accounting for 69.14% of the total number of applications for re-examination of rejection, an increase of 5 percentage points compared with the same period last year; submitted for revocation without using registered trademarks for three consecutive years There were 53,500 applications, accounting for 86.76% of the total number of applications, an increase of 23 percentage points over the same period last year.

At the same time, online applications for back-end businesses such as trademark opposition and invalidation have also shown an increasing trend. Both the number and proportion of online applications have nearly doubled compared to the same period last year.

  Li Chang pointed out that in the next step, the bureau will continue to expand the business scope of trademark online public services, and realize the "one-stop handling" of trademark review and adjudication cases.

At the same time, it will continue to optimize online trademark services, comprehensively enhance the public service capabilities and facilitation level of online trademarks, and provide services for the majority of market players.
