He is also the owner of the London newspapers "The Sun" and "The Times" and a number of newspapers in Australia.

And the New York Times, which reported the news of the divorce, quoting two informed sources, who did not reveal their identities, stated that it would not affect the structure of Murdoch's empire.

A spokesman for the businessman refused to respond to an AFP question about the divorce in New York.

Neither did a Hole representative comment on it.

Rupert Murdoch's first marriage to Australian air hostess Patricia Booker lasted from 1956 to 1967, then he was married for more than 30 years, until 1999, British journalist Anna Mann, who, according to the press at the time, earned more than a billion dollars after their divorce.

The billionaire then married a few days later, businesswoman of Chinese origin, Wendy Deng, a graduate of Yale University, and remained with her until their divorce in New York in 2013.

Murdoch has six children from his marriages, and his fourth wife, Jerry Hall, is also an actress. She is the mother of four children whom she had with Rolling Stones leader Mick Jagger when she was his life partner.
