He stated this in an interview for Ukraina.ru.

“If we have leverage, turn to Belarus, use our capabilities so that Lithuania is completely in the same blockade that is arranged for Russian Kaliningrad in terms of the economy,” he said.

According to the expert, Lithuania took such a step under pressure from the United States and NATO, because it would not have dared to do this on its own.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev said that Lithuania is violating a number of international legal acts affecting the obligations of the European Union by starting a blockade of the Kaliningrad region.

On June 17, Lithuanian Railways notified Kaliningrad Railways of the termination of the transit of a number of sanctioned goods.

The Kaliningrad region has already put forward three proposals for response to the Lithuanian decision.
