Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to pay attention and focus while driving or when waiting to cross the traffic light and to avoid using the phone to browse the Internet and social networking sites, in order to avoid deviating the vehicle or passing the red light.

She urged the need to adhere to traffic lights at intersections, explaining the most important reasons that lead to committing this dangerous violation, including lack of attention and being distracted from the road or as a result of some drivers increasing their speed at intersections to realize the green signal.

She pointed to the implementation of a traffic awareness campaign, as part of its proactive plan to provide the highest standards of traffic safety, to spread awareness of the danger of crossing the red light, through the Abu Dhabi Police platforms for social communication and the media, and to urge drivers to abide by the traffic law as part of efforts aimed at the safety and security of road users.
